Alfama is Lisbon's fado district, this music is part of the fabric of this neighbourhood if you listen carefully you will hear the strum of a mandoline coming from an open window, a fado singer coming down a cobbled street. It's pretty narrow streets date back millennia, some so old that the buildings lean to meet each other, secrets whisper from their ancient walls. --- ### Discover an authentic Alfama --- --- ## Find us in the map --- - [Get directions](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&destination=) --- #### Everything Within Walking Distance #### Walking distance Monuments **Castelo de São Jorge** 6min walking **Sé de Lisboa** 7min walking **Igreja de Santo António** 9min walking **Mosteiro de São Vicente de Fora** 12min walking **Arco da Rua Augusta** 13min walking **Igreja do Carmo** 21min walking **Teatro Romano** 5min walking #### Best Viewpoints to Watch the Sunrise **Miradouro Portas do Sol** 5min walking **Miradouro Santa Luzia** 2min walking #### Best Viewpoints to Watch the Sunset **Miradouro Senhora do Monte** 22min walking 22min 28 tram to R.Graça **Miradouro da Graça** 13min walking 19min 28 tram to Graça #### Our favourite Pastéis de Nata **Manteigaria** 5min walking **Pastelaria Santo António** 3min walking #### Authentic Flea Market **Feira da Ladra** On Tuesdays and Saturdays 9h - 18h 15min walking #### Beautiful Fado music **A Severa** 26min walking **Casa de Linhares** 9min walking **Mesa de Frades** 14min walking #### Public transportation **Tram Miradouro de Santa Luzia** 10 m **Tram Largo das Portas do Sol** 100 m **Metro Rossio Metro Station** 800 m **Metro Terreiro do Paço Metro Station** 850 m #### Iconic Places **Fado Museum** 400 m **St. George's Castle** 500 m **Design and Fashion Museum** 700 m **Praca da Figueira** 750 m **Santa Justa Elevator** 800 m **Commerce Square** 850 m **Rossio** 950 m **Carmo Convent** 950 m **Carmo Fountain** 950 m #### Nearby Airports **Humberto Delgado Airport** 6 km **Cascais Municipal Airport** 22 km ##### Sign up for our newsletter Be the first to hear about exclusive offers, upcoming events, and insider tips on exploring Lisbon.
